Dr Usman is a senior Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist working with young people with disabilities such as Autism. He works for the Government of South Australia at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Adelaide. Dr Usman is the Secretary, SA Branch of the Faculty of the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist. He is also Clinical Lecturer for the University of Adelaide, involved in teaching medical students and psychiatric trainees. He has published research papers and articles on child and adolescent mental health. Dr Usman is currently the lead psychiatrist for developing a model of service for young people with disabilities in the state of South Australia. Dr Usman holds membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (Australia). He was the recipient of Connell Werry prize of RANZCP in 2010. He also served as the Assessor for the District Court of South Australia for the Guardianship and Administrative Act.
